This unfortunate woman had undergone a breast augmentation years prior and sustained capsular contracture along with synmastia("uniboob"). Notice her asymmetrical flattening along her breast silhouette. This type of corrective breast surgery can prove to be the most demanding for any self-respecting plastic surgeon because: 1. scar resection is necessary (by removing the capsule along the inferior and lateral aspects of the breast) while 2. Controlled, localized scar formation needs to be fostered medially (by suturing the breast pocket closed centrally, onto the breast bone/sternum).
