This woman had a classic case of a Baker's Grade III breast implant encapsulation. She presented to Dr. Randal Haworth, a specialist in breast implant revision in Beverly Hills, with obviously deformed and encapsulated breasts. She had previous silicone implants placed above the muscle which made the situation even more obvious.
Dr. Haworth ended up performing a bilateral exchange of implants as well as a capsulectomy. To minimize chances of re-encapsulation, rippling and visibility of the edges of the implant, he put the new implants underneath the pectoralis major muscle.
One-year follow-up photographs are presented.
