With the eyes in the upward gaze, the lower eyelid dark circles and hollows ("tear trough deformities") are significantly highlighted. These 'tear trough' deformities are partially familial and also worsen with age regardless of race, creed or religion! This patient in her mid 30s came to Dr. HAWORTH, a facial plastic surgery expert who, as a hyperesthetic surgeon specializes in oculoplastic and blepharoplasty procedures. She was desiring a natural rejuvenation of her lower eyelids. Haworth, recommended a filler to act as a transitional bridge between her lower eyelids and her cheeks in order to provide a smooth transition from the former to the latter anatomic areas. Of course, temporary fillers are a good alternative but a permanent solution is what most patients ultimately want. Fat, a living, natural and permanent filler, is harvested  and purified from the patient's own body. It is then transferred into the "tear troughs" with ultimate precision, requiring a keen eye and the acme of the plastic surgeon's skill. One can note the seamless transition from the lower eyes into the cheeks.
