This patient originally met Dr. Randal Haworth, known as one of the best plastic surgeons for facial work, on Fox's hit TV show "The Swan". He was chosen for that show because of his hyperaesthetic surgical skills and he apply them to this patient including her lips. Specifically, her upper lip was inverted excerbating excessive upper tooth show. It was also in the shape of an "M". Consequently, he performed his FATMA (which stands for FAt Transfer and Mucosal Advancement) technique to roll out her lips from the inside to the out. This would result in more visible pink vermilion and less upper tooth show. Fat transfer provided fullness to highlight her interlabial harmony. Also, she had an upper lip lift to shorten her long nose-to-lip distance to enhance her labial facial harmony.

Unfortunately, Dr. Haworth did not develop his OOS Upper lip lift technique yet and was only performing a modified "skin-only" lift which is the only one being performed today by the few plastic surgeons who do lip lifts. Skin-only lip lifts are more prone to having pulldown of the nostrils and wider scars which you can see in this case. However, most would agree that her net aesthetic benefit was significant despite these issues.
