This young African-American female disliked the lack of harmony and balance between her upper aspect of her face and her lower. They did not match, in essence. Being a hyperesthetic top Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Haworth proposed an aesthetic craniofacial surgery in which he would reshape the actual mandibular bone to provide such balance and harmony. This is all done through a submental (under the chin) 3 cm wide incision. Not only did Haworth shorten the actual chin but he also tapered it so that it will blend in to her mandibular angles (back of her jow bone) in a feminine fashion from all angles. Therefore, he not only shorten the chin but he also elegantly tapered and narrowed the jawline from a full frontal view.

Surprisingly, the recovery period is rather short considering the extent of the surgery. 1.5 year follow ups are presented.
